They say the pen is mightier than the sword,
Yet she felt weaker, more vulnerable
With every verse that she wrote.

Because if you leave again,
It’ll just be another sad poem.
You say yours is a long story,
A twisted urbane tale
But the night is young
And the hours still full
So what is on your mind?
Bring it home.

Caress my fragile imperfections
With an ever so slightest touch
As if by the time
They reach your pen,
I might just crumble down
Like a paper doll

Every relationship,
Every friendship
Must end
– Either in death
Or betrayal

And when boredom
strikes
I take out my diary
and write

He doesn’t want me
To get hurt
Or endure
Any more pain
Yet
He wounds my ego
Time and time again
